As many of you know with the current status of COVID-19 it is recommended that meetings and large gatherings be rescheduled.
For the safety of our members, we are in the process of putting together a solution so we can have our April meeting.
Please keep checking this website and your email for updates and information about these changes.

We invite you all to the SRARC monthly meeting tomorrow night at 7:00 PM.
1220 W College Street
Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37129
**Due to the recent tornadoes, the planned presentation with Heather Mattis and the Storm 5 Titan Truck has been rescheduled.
We have rescheduled the presentation until next month.
Tomorrow night will include a presentation on Raspberry Pi devices and how these devices can benefit ham radio operators.
After the presentation, we’ll be programming radios and answering questions members may have.
I will be there to help any of the new DMR users with their Radios, Hotspots and Code Plugs. Bring your radio and programming cables.

WHEN:Since our last DMR training, the SRARC has had a large growth in the number of members getting involved with DMR.
As with any new radio or mode, we all have questions and issues. To help with those I have created a new
section for DMR Radio on the SRARC Website. The new section is located on the main menu of our website.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be adding helpful information about various problems and solutions along with reviews on various DMR radios and configurations. The price range of DMR radios is wide so I’ll list several options that are worth looking into.
I’m also in the process of creating a Code Plug for the SRARC Members to help you get started using your new DMR Radio. It’ll contain the common digital talkgroups and I’ll be organizing all the VHF/UHF repeaters by distance radiating from the 145.230 W4CAT Lavergne Repeater. As well as the NWS, RC ARES and Mt Juliet Simplex Frequencies.
If you have any suggestions of things you’d like to learn about with DMR please feel free to contact us using the Contact Us form on the website.
Thank You,
Glenn Clute – W1KOM
Stones River Amateur Radio Club Vice President
For our March Meeting, the SRARC is honored to have Heather Mathis & The Storm 5 Titan Truck.
This is a meeting you’ll want to attend. Heather will give a short presentation on the weather along with how Channel 5 handles and collects and reports the weather in the Middle Tennessee Area.
This meeting is open to anyone interested in ham radio and others interested in joining the SRARC.

Heather’s Channel 5 Bio:
Having grown up in Mt. Juliet with News Channel 5 always on the television, Heather Mathis is thrilled to be back home and a part of the Storm 5 weather team.
Heather can remember the deadly April 1998 tornado outbreak across Middle Tennessee that sparked her fascination with meteorology. Heather is a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. There, she got her first “job” in broadcasting working for the Bear News Network! Heather attended Middle Tennessee State University and was a weather anchor for the student-run television station throughout college. She earned her degree from MTSU in Broadcast Journalism. Heather also earned a second degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
*The schedule for this event could change if we do happen to have severe weather at the scheduled time.
*As a note, our previously scheduled training class on Raspberry Pi configurations has been postponed.
