For our March Meeting, the SRARC is honored to have Heather Mathis & The Storm 5 Titan Truck.
This is a meeting you’ll want to attend. Heather will give a short presentation on the weather along with how Channel 5 handles and collects and reports the weather in the Middle Tennessee Area.
This meeting is open to anyone interested in ham radio and others interested in joining the SRARC.
Heather’s Channel 5 Bio:
Having grown up in Mt. Juliet with News Channel 5 always on the television, Heather Mathis is thrilled to be back home and a part of the Storm 5 weather team.
Heather can remember the deadly April 1998 tornado outbreak across Middle Tennessee that sparked her fascination with meteorology. Heather is a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. There, she got her first “job” in broadcasting working for the Bear News Network! Heather attended Middle Tennessee State University and was a weather anchor for the student-run television station throughout college. She earned her degree from MTSU in Broadcast Journalism. Heather also earned a second degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
