A G4-level severe geomagnetic storm watch has been issued, starting from mid-to-late November 12 (UTC), with potential effects spilling over into November 13. This event stems from a high-speed coronal mass ejection (CME) launched by an intense X5.1 solar flare from Active Region 4274 early Tuesday morning. Those chasing auroras in mid-latitude regions: keep your eyes peeled for dazzling displays. Heads up preliminary geomagnetic activity might already be underway upon the CME’s arrival, thanks to preceding shockwaves from earlier X1.7 and X1.2 flares sweeping past Earth. We will hold the yearly business meeting and election of Vice President and Treasurer at this meeting.
